Hartwig Medical Foundation (Hartwig) is looking for a Clinical Bioinformatician with a strong interest in clinical applications. Your profile

As a Clinical Bioinformatician within Hartwig’s Diagnostic Services team, you play a key role in ensuring the integrity, continuity, and continuous improvement of our clinical data workflows and software systems. You work at the intersection of technology and healthcare, supporting the full diagnostic process: from the receipt of patient samples and sequencing data to the delivery of reliable reports to hospitals.

By maintaining and optimizing Hartwig’s essential systems, including the patient reporting pipeline, you directly contribute to a learning healthcare system. In this system, whole genome sequencing data is used to support personalized treatment decisions for current patients while simultaneously enabling research that improves care for future patients.

Your responsibilities

Oversee and support the clinical data and reporting pipelines.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and traceability of diagnostic results.
Collaborate with medical experts to interpret findings and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Handle clinical and technical inquiries related to analyses and reports.
Maintain, validate, and improve systems within the clinical workflow.
Work closely with laboratory staff, bioinformaticians, and clinical specialists.

About you

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Health Informatics, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience with programming (e.g. Java or Kotlin).
Strong communication skills; fluent in English and proficient in Dutch.
A collaborative team player who is also able to work independently and take ownership.
Interest in clinical applications and oncology.
Motivation to apply your technical expertise to make a meaningful societal impact.
Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 17025, ISO 13485) is a plus.

A monthly salary between € 3,300 and € 5,500 gross, based on experience and skills.
