We're dedicated to delivering common components that enable our teams to build exceptional products and services with a focus on reliability and performance. /p pAs a key part of our platform engineering organization, the Application Services team is responsible for crafting platform-wide, business-agnostic capabilities and essential building blocks like secret management, service discovery, and a feature flag framework. If you're passionate about building scalable, high-performance systems that empower others to succeed, come and build with us! /p h3What you will do /h3 pAs a Java engineer working on Application Services, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the building blocks of a highly available, distributed payment platform. You will /p ul liDevelop foundational applications that almost every other engineering team builds into their services /li liDrive medium-sized development projects where you collaborate with other engineers and sync with stakeholders /li liWork with a product manager and other engineers to find out what common capabilities other teams need for their business applications /li liDesign and evolve APIs that will be used by engineers across the company, partnering with them to identify pain points, opportunities, and areas for improvement /li liArchitect resilient solutions that span multiple data centers, ensuring our platform remains highly available and performant /li liManage deployment and monitoring of live applications, track key metrics to optimize performance and availability /li liResearch how other engineers within Adyen use and interact with your work /li liMentor junior team members /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul li5+ years of backend software development experience /li liProficiency in Java and solid JVM understanding /li liExperience working with Postgres or similar relational databases /li liProficiency with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools /li liA good understanding of distributed systems /li liA product-oriented approach to software development /li liWillingness to operate, deploy, and troubleshoot applications in a live production environment /li /ul h3Bonus points for /h3 ul liExperience working with large scale distributed systems /li liFamiliarity with security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption /li liWorking knowledge of secret management tools, service discovery or feature flagging frameworks /li liExperience building internal products and services for other engineers as part of a platform team with focus on autonomy /li /ul h3Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments /h3 pOur unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives.
