Senior Manager, Trade Marketing - World Food

About the Role

Joybuy is expanding its food business across Europe, covering a broad range of food and beverage categories from both European and international markets.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Trade Marketing to drive the growth of Non-EU, Non-China food categories, including products from Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other international markets.

In this role, you will lead trade marketing strategy and work closely with brands, distributors, trading companies and merchants to develop partnerships, drive category campaigns and optimize marketing resources.

This is a highly commercial role combining trade strategy, merchant collaboration, campaign execution and data-driven growth, with a strong focus on delivering measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Trade Marketing Strategy & System Building: Develop and lead Trade Marketing strategies for Non-EU, Non-China food categories across Europe, driving category GMV, user growth and merchant engagement.
• Category Growth: Develop tailored growth strategies across Japanese, Korean, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern and other international food categories based on market trends, consumer needs and business priorities.
• Merchant Segmentation & Incentives: Build merchant segmentation, incentive and subsidy mechanisms to increase merchant participation and drive sustainable category growth.
• Campaign Planning & Execution: Plan and execute category campaigns around key shopping moments, local seasons, festivals and relevant food occasions to drive traffic, conversion and sales.
• Brand & Merchant Partnerships: Build strategic partnerships with key brands, distributors, trading companies and merchants, driving joint promotions, marketing investment and sales growth.
• Budget & ROI Management: Own Trade Marketing budgets, optimize resource allocation and evaluate campaign performance based on business impact and ROI.
• Data-driven Growth: Track key metrics including GMV, traffic, conversion, merchant activity and campaign ROI to identify growth opportunities and continuously optimize strategies.
• Market & Competitive Insights: Monitor European food market trends, consumer behavior and competitor strategies, translating insights into actionable trade and category strategies.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Category/Buying, Merchant Operations, Traffic, Product, Regional and Compliance teams to ensure effective execution and deliver business results.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Trade Marketing, Category Marketing, Commercial Marketing, Category Growth or related fields; Senior Manager-level experience is preferred.
• Experience in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Retail or E-commerce is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the European market, including consumer behavior, retail and e-commerce dynamics.
• Proven experience working with brands, distributors, trading companies, retailers or platform merchants.
• Strong commercial mindset with a good understanding of GMV, traffic, conversion, marketing investment and ROI.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to turn market and consumer insights into actionable business strategies.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to drive complex initiatives from strategy to execution.
• Ability to work independently, influence stakeholders and deliver measurable business results in a fast-paced international environment.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience in Japanese, Korean, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern or other international food categories is highly preferred.
• Experience with European food importers, distributors, trading companies, retailers or e-commerce platforms is a strong plus.
