This strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing export controls, customs and import compliance, trade operations, regulatory governance, process improvement, and trade compliance automation supporting Supermicro's rapidly expanding AI, high-performance computing, semiconductor, and cloud infrastructure business throughout Europe. /ppThe Director serves as the primary Global Trade Compliance leader for the BV organization, ensuring compliance with Dutch, European Union, U.S., and other applicable international trade regulations while enabling efficient global business operations. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Engineering, IT, and regional business leaders to develop scalable compliance programs, implement technology-driven solutions, and continuously improve trade compliance processes. /pbEssential Duties and Responsibilities: /bulliLead all activities across export compliance, import/customs compliance, and operational trade compliance. /liliDevelop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, internal controls, and other applicable global trade regulations. /liliServe as the primary trade compliance advisor for EU business operations and strategic initiatives. /liliPartner with executive leadership to proactively identify regulatory risks and implement practical business solutions. /li /ulpbExport Compliance: /b /pulliEnsure compliance with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), EU Dual-Use Regulation, Dutch Strategic Goods regulations, sanctions, anti-boycott requirements, and other applicable export control laws. /liliOversee export classifications, licensing determinations, license management, and export authorization strategies. /liliReview high-risk transactions, customers, destinations, and end-use concerns. /liliProvide guidance regarding restricted AI technologies, advanced semiconductors, encryption products, and emerging technologies. /liliSupport regulatory audits, government inquiries, voluntary disclosures, and investigations as necessary. /li /ulpbImport Customs Compliance: /b /pulliLead European customs compliance programs and ensure compliance with Dutch Customs requirements, Union Customs Code (UCC), and other applicable EU customs regulations. /liliDevelop customs governance programs that reduce operational risk while improving customs efficiency. /liliSupport customs audits, post-entry corrections, customs rulings, and regulatory inquiries. /liliPartner with Supply Chain and Procurement to improve customs compliance throughout the procurement and logistics process. /li /ulpbProcess Improvement Operational Excellence /b /pulliEvaluate and lead continous improvement on existing trade compliance processes. /liliDevelop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reporting metrics. /liliEstablish standardized procedures across regional trade compliance operations. /li /ulpbTrade Automation Digital Transformation: /b /pulliLead implementation and continuous improvement of trade compliance technology solutions, /liliPartner with IT to identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and strengthen compliance controls. /liliSupport implementation of AI-enabled compliance tools, analytics, workflow automation, and reporting capabilities. /liliDrive data governance initiatives supporting accurate product classifications, customer due diligence, licensing, and customs compliance. /liliConduct trade compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, including oversee due diligence activities. /liliReview complex transactions and maintain appropriate documentation involving diversion risks, restricted end users, sanctioned jurisdictions, and sensitive technologies. /li /ulpbTraining Compliance Culture: /b /pulliDevelop and deliver trade compliance training. /liliPromote a culture of compliance through education, communication, and partnership with business functions. /li /ulbQualifications: /bpbMinimum Qualifications: /b /pulliBachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Customs, International Trade, Business Administration, Law, or related field, or equivalent experience. /liliAdvanced degree or professional trade certifications preferred. /lili12+ years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, customs, or export controls. /liliMinimum 7 years of leadership experience managing global trade compliance programs. /liliStrong experience supporting multinational technology, semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing companies. /liliDemonstrated experience managing both export controls and customs compliance programs. /liliExperience implementing compliance process improvements and enterprise-wide automation initiatives. /li /ulpbCore Competencies: /b /pulliExpert knowledge of U.S. EAR, EU Dual-Use Regulation, Dutch export controls, customs regulations, sanctions, and international trade compliance requirements. /liliStrong understanding of European customs operations, import compliance, tariff classification, valuation, and origin rules. /liliExperience implementing ERP, SAP GTS, screening, and customs automation solutions. /liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements. /liliDemonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and organizational change. /liliExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. /liliAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment. /liliExecutive presence with strong decision-making and business judgment. /li /ulpbPreferred global trade management systems. /liliKnowledge of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), customs special procedures, and free trade programs. /liliExperience leading digital transformation, compliance analytics, and automation initiatives. /liliExperience managing regulatory audits, customs examinations, and government inquiries. /liliFamiliarity with global supply chain optimization and customs
