Data & Integration Engineer

As Data & Integration Engineer at Marie-Stella-Maris, you are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable data flows and system integrations across our retail, e-commerce, and back-office landscape.
You ensure that data from our core platforms is accurate, timely, and accessible, enabling reporting, analytics, and operational processes. You play a key role in reducing manual work, improving data quality, and enabling scalable growth through well-designed integrations.
This role sits within the Business Technology team at Marie-Stella-Maris. Business Technology is not a traditional IT department, but a business-focused team that works closely with Retail, E-commerce, and Operations to enable growth, improve operations, and enhance customer experience through technology. The focus is on outcomes and business value rather than systems and support alone, working in close collaboration with external technology partners.
Data engineering & pipelines
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines between core systems (POS, e-commerce, ERP, OMS, CRM, BI)
Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across reporting and operational use cases
Support and further develop the data model used for analytics and decision-making
Monitor data flows and proactively resolve issues
Build and maintain integrations between SaaS platforms using APIs and Celigo as our middleware for application integration
Own and further develop the data lake and BI environment, using Fivetran for data extraction and Databricks and DBT for storage, transformation, and data modelling
Work closely with the Data Analyst, Product Owners, and BT Operations
Collaborate with external technology partners and vendors on integrations and data flows
Support testing, rollout, and stabilisation of new integrations
Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of data pipelines
Experience as a Data Engineer, Integration Specialist, or similar role
Experience with data pipelines, data modelling, and analytics environments (e.g. Experience working with cloud-based SaaS platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce, Power BI, Plytix (PIM), POS solutions, and other retail SaaS systems
Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus)
