Electrical Design Engineer | Engineering

Help ensure the safety of the Netherlands and Europe as an engineer!

Demcon defense & security systems collaborates wit the Dutch ministry of defence on a number of themes: energy supply (electricity, heat, cooling) on large scale, such as for vehicles or bases, and on small (portable) scale; and autonomous systems, the development of technology for unmanned and (semi) autonomous systems.
Demcon develops and manufactures advanced technology and complex systems, from concept through to series production. Driven by the ambition to solve societal and technological challenges, we combine deep engineering expertise with creativity to create solutions that make a real impact. We build prototypes, industrialize innovations, and bring products into production, with a strong focus on mechatronics. By integrating mechanical, electrical, and software engineering with disciplines such as robotics, optics, and data science, we support our customers throughout the entire product lifecycle. The Demcon Group consists of more than 50 specialized companies, together forming a one-stop shop for high-tech innovation. With over 1,100 colleagues worldwide, we are building the technology of tomorrow.
As electrical engineer you provide complete solutions, comprising custom or commercially available hardware and (custom) interconnections. You take care of the design, implementation and verification of high-power electrical systems, such as may be used in new hybrid vehicles, or electrical power supply and cooling for high-energy lasers.

Examples of technology you will work with:

power electronics (inverters, battery packs);
Documentation of) the complete product design process: use cases, requirements, specifications, concept design, architecture, detailed design, electrical drawings, test plans, FAT and SAT;

• assisting assembly thereof;
• Execute low-voltage safety tests; You will work in a team with other experts in the fields of software, mechanics, thermal systems and system engineering. Given the technologies used, experience with high voltage and power electronics is important, such as 400V or 800V EV-technology, power inverters, and modern battery technology. A college or university degree in electrical engineering or similar;

Motivation to uphold your role in the team, and challenge the others to perform;
Experience in selection, application and integration of components for power electronics;
At Demcon, you work on technology that truly matters. 25 vacation days and 6 ATV days based on a full-time employment contract, with the option to purchase additional leave days;

• A hybrid working arrangement, allowing up to 2 days of remote work per week (full-time basis), always in consultation with your manager;
