Java Software Engineer - Per direct

You're going to be part of a really cool, multi-disciplinary team that's building the core platform for our client. Right now, the team is super focused on creating and delivering Web Components that will be used everywhere. They've really embraced software engineering principles, prioritizing top-notch technology, getting direct feedback from users, super-fast delivery, and automating as much as possible. It's a fantastic, modern approach that opens up a lot of room for fresh ideas and the chance to launch this exciting product globally!

Our main mission is to make it easier and better for our client to integrate and deploy their code, right from the start all the way to production. You'll be joining a brand-new team of incredibly talented people, working together to build the next generation of our frontend delivery services. The team's goal is to create a solution that's not only high-performing and scalable but also incredibly fast, designed for global use with the latest tech stack. An immediate priority for the squad is migrating our Frontend controller to Java.

In the IT Chapter, we mainly use a set of robust technologies and frameworks to build and deliver great solutions. Java, Rest API, Kafka, Cassandra, Azure DevOps (covering Repos, Pipeline, Boards, and Artifacts), Maven, and Elastic Search. Is experienced in Java 21+ (LTS versions) and genuinely enjoys finding creative solutions.

Has solid experience with Spring Boot/Spring latest.

Thrives in a challenging, distributed IT environment, especially with asynchronous communication channels – we rely heavily on Kafka!

Has experience working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps team.

Is a true team player and a professional in every sense.

Excels in technical communication and is eager to engage with customers.

Enjoys helping their team grow and values the diversity of opinions and skills.

Experience with performance testing, like using Gatling.

A deep understanding of (test) automation, continuous delivery, deployment tools, and pipelines. The ability to share knowledge back with the ING Bank through presentations, workshops, and documentation, and importantly, to help set new tech standards.

Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and in an agile manner.

A proactive approach to handling application risk controls, helping to prevent security and other risks efficiently.
