Senior Enterprise Data Modeler

Shape the data foundation of a global organisation

At HeadFirst x Impellam, our Global Data & AI team is building a modern, cloud-native data platform supporting workforce analytics, talent intelligence and AI-enabled solutions across Europe, the UK, US and APAC.

We are looking for a Senior Enterprise Data Modeler to take ownership of the Data Vault 2.0 modelling across our core business domains.

This is a modelling role rather than an architecture role. You will work closely with business stakeholders and our Data Engineering team to translate how the business operates into a robust and reusable data model.

Your Role

You will be responsible for the detailed modelling decisions within our global data platform.

You will work with business concepts such as Candidates, Workers, Jobs and Clients, defining how these entities relate to each other and translating them into business keys, hubs, links, satellites and Business Vault structures.

You will report to the Global Data & AI Architect, who owns the overall architecture, methodology and standards. Within that framework, you will have ownership of the detailed data modelling.

A key part of your role is working with the business. You will work closely with the CBO and other stakeholders to understand their processes and make sure the data model reflects how the organisation actually works.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the Data Vault 2.0 model across our global data platform.

• Translate business concepts and processes into clear data models, diagrams and definitions.

• Design hubs, links, satellites, Raw Vault and Business Vault structures.

• Define business keys, hash key and hash diff strategies, satellite structures and driving keys.

• Model data from enterprise source systems, including Workday, into a consistent structure.

• Design Gold-layer models and golden records for core entities such as Customer, Partner, Candidate and Worker.

• Define reconciliation and survivorship logic when different systems contain different versions of the truth.

• Create modelling standards, metadata and data contracts that can be reused by our Data Vault accelerator.

• Work closely with Data Engineering to make sure your models can be implemented effectively in Databricks.

• Maintain clear documentation so engineering teams can work independently from your modelling decisions.

• Help maintain consistency across our regional and global data environments.

We are also increasingly using AI in our development and modelling workflows, including tools such as Claude Code and the Databricks AI Dev Kit.

You do not need experience with every technology in the stack, but a strong understanding of Databricks, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog is important for this role.

Your modelling decisions will help create a consistent view of our core business domains across regions and provide the foundation for analytics, AI and future data products.

You will work closely with the Global Data & AI Architect, CBO, Data Engineering and business stakeholders, giving you a broad view of both the technology and the business.

You will also have the opportunity to develop reusable Data Vault patterns and accelerators that can be applied across different regions and domains.

Who you are

You are an experienced data modeller who understands both the technical side of enterprise data and the business behind it.

You probably recognise yourself in the following:

• You have 5+ years of experience in enterprise data modelling.

• You have proven production experience with Data Vault 2.0.

• You have experience building or working with Data Vault 2.0 accelerators and reusable modelling patterns.

• You have hands-on experience implementing Data Vault 2.0 on Databricks.

• You have a strong understanding of business keys, hash strategies, satellite design, driving keys and Raw Vault versus Business Vault.

• You are experienced in translating business concepts and processes into enterprise data models.

• You understand master data, golden records and reconciliation across multiple source systems.

• You are familiar with the Medallion Architecture and concepts such as Bronze, Silver and Gold.

• You communicate clearly and can explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• You are comfortable making and defending modelling decisions while working within an agreed architecture.

• You are structured, precise and able to work effectively in an international environment.

Nice to have

The following experience would be valuable:

• Workday HCM and/or Financials.

• Workday RaaS.

• Databricks AI Dev Kit or other AI-assisted modelling tools.

• Delta Sharing or Apache Iceberg.

• Staffing, recruitment or workforce solutions.

• Previous experience in data architecture.
