The AI Management consultant will play an important role supporting the team in the end to end AI funnel from idea to scale, manage and refine the AI portfolio, build and maintain the operating model, keeps a view on the market as well as engaging with stakeholders and prepare decision making.

What we expect from you

• Support the team with the end to end AI funnel. Identify, validate and prioritize AI ideas, aligned with strategy and gear towards business impact.
• Manage and refine the WB AI portfolio. Provide oversight, insight, actionable recommendations.
• Continuously improve processes, roles and tools used. In the end of the day it is about re-use, scalability and accelerate adoption and consumption of AI.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross product and unit alignment, integrating business, AI, tech and risk.
• Conduct market research -and intelligence, feeding those insights into the strategy and teams.
• Stakeholder engagement and  AI governance bodies preparations. Prepare decision making with clear messaging. 
• Support the team in projects like WB AI strategy & governance, setting up new AI flagship programs, drive the adoption and consumption of AI and drive value in the E2E value chain (business, AI, data).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience  (i.e. currently a consultant or senior consultant)
• You have a Master’s degree
• You have strong analytical skills and get energy of translating complexity into a clear vision and structure, always looking for ways to improve the status quo.
• Understanding of Design and Product thinking methodologies, as well as Lean and Agile delivery
• Focused on details, getting to the bottom of complexity and simplify issues to be communicated in a clear and concise way.
• Tech savvy, demonstrated to operate  on the frontier of AI.
• You have strong influencing skills, structured and a result-driven/ persistent can-do mentality.
• Can get up to speed incredibly fast in new environments and new topics.
• You operate independently while being a team player, have a helicopter view.
• You are easy to work with and have a drive to work in a bank-wide, international environment.
• Excellent communication skills.  Fluent in English, Dutch is a pre

What could your day look like?

Any given day will be different, but one of them might look like this: Start off the day with the daily standup with the Discovery squad. They work on (data) problems, prioritize idea backlog and design and execute experiments to decide what problems need solving.

Afterwards you work with your colleagues in Asia that have a new business idea with AI at its core and need guidance on how to put their idea forward. Looks like there are similarities with an idea submitted by our colleagues in the US. Is there a possibility to re-engineer a workflow into an agentic workflow?

Just in time for the delivery meeting where we go through the portfolio of the business unit. What impediments needs to be solved? Great input for the decision making your are preparing.

You go for lunch with our Tech colleagues to understand how we can further improve our SLDC with AI. Then, later that afternoon you run a workshop with your counterparts in Digital and Tech about a new governance model to improve the time to market even further. How do we position AI Risk most optimally?

In the hallway you meeting with a colleague who is working on AI driven investment algo’s. This could be a project for our upcoming experiment week.

Later in the day you make your way to a conference where you are speaking about our latest developments in AI.  You stay for some drinks at the conference… or you call it a day and spend some quality private time to keep a healthy balance between focus, rest and other things.

What department

Wholesale Banking Analytics (WBA) has the purpose to build data-driven AI products that benefit ING’s clients and the bank. With a team of about 125 engineers, data scientists, UXers and product managers we build solutions that make the wholesale bank more data driven.
