Live-in Governess

Our clients, a busy professional couple based in Amsterdam, are looking for a qualified Governess for their 3 children - 3, 5 & 12 years.
They are searching for someone who is familiar with the British/International schooling curriculum/teaching methods and has a background in teaching. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified educator with several years' relevant Governess experience, and has a great understanding of child development.
You should be a kind, nurturing, enthusiastic Nanny, with considerable experience as a Governess/Teacher. This role would also be a great fit for someone who is self-motivated, and passionate about their professional career.
A typical working week will be Tuesday to Saturday - supporting the children with their morning and after-school routine. This role is primarily educationally focused, with general Nanny duties - there will be no additional requirements to cook or do any light housekeeping.
Duties will include the following, but not be limited to:
- Setting targets, goals, and monitoring progress
- Carrying out appropriate educational activities with the children
- Assisting with homework and projects
- Scheduling and coordinating children’s activities
- Accompany the children to their extracurricular activities
- Informing the children’s parents of diary additions, changes, school notices and invitations etc
- Keeping the children’s wardrobes in good order
- Ensuring that each evening, the children’s uniforms and school bags/kits are organised and ready for the following morning
- Undertaking appropriate outdoor activities with the children
- Researching and booking camps/clubs relevant to each child’s skills and interests
- Reading and sharing stories with the children
- Reinforcing appropriate discipline, good manners, and social skills
- Implementing daily routines
- Travelling with the family – if requested
It is a MUST that you possess the following:
- Fun, friendly but firm approach
- Someone who is not afraid to muck in
- Relevant experience
- Willing to be flexible
- English MT – preferred
- Glowing references
- DBS checked
- Familiar working within VIP/HNW environments
Location : Amsterdam
Contract Length : Permanent
Start Date : ASAP
Children : 3 Children – 3, 5 & 12 years old
Working Days : Tuesday to Saturday - with an option of 6 days on request
Working Hours : 7.00am until the children depart for school, then 1.00/2.00pm until 9.00pm
Salary : circa €55,000 gross per annum – DOE
Accommodation : Apartment provided with a separate entrance, separate bedroom but shared bathroom/living room and kitchen with one other member of staff
