WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to shape and drive the buying strategy for Nike Digital Commerce across our third-party partners. You are passionate about product and deeply consumer focused, with a clear point of view on how to serve consumers while responding to evolving marketplace trends.

You bring strong buying or merchandising experience and know how to build a clear strategy across multiple partners and product groups, always working back from the desired consumer and brand experience. You combine commercial judgement, retail acumen and fluency in key performance indicators to trade the business and drive profitable growth.

You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, comfortably managing multiple seasons and priorities at once. You communicate clearly, influence cross-functional stakeholders and present your work with confidence. You embrace change, adapt quickly and take a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

• Develop and deliver buying strategies across third-party partners and product groups, aligned with Nike Digital Commerce objectives.
• Translate consumer insights, marketplace trends, data and performance into actionable seasonal buying and assortment plans.
• Build assortments that balance core product, innovation, seasonal opportunities and consumer demand while delivering the strongest expression of the Nike brand online.
• Identify growth opportunities based on consumer needs, trends, competitive activity and market performance.
• Own sales, margin, inventory and sell-through targets, managing buying budgets and Open-to-Buy plans.
• Analyse performance, lead forecasting and demand-planning inputs, and recommend actions that maximise profitability.
• Lead relationships with key third-party partners and suppliers, including negotiation of product allocations, pricing and commercial terms.
• Partner across the merchandising CODE process to deliver the seasonal merchandising plan and influence future assortment needs, product support and trade levers.
• Present strategies, plans and business performance to key cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be part of the Nike Digital Commerce team and the wider Nike Direct Digital cross-functional organisation. Our role is to win with consumers by anchoring our strategies in the Sport Offense. We obsess consumer, marketplace, competition, digital and store insights to serve consumers’ needs while driving today’s business and shaping long-term growth.

You will collaborate closely with Nike Direct Digital Commerce, Digital Merchandising, Stores Merchandising, Digital Operations, Digital Experience, Digital Marketing and Digital Planning.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong experience in buying or merchandising, with a well-developed understanding of commercial and consumer-led decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to build and execute a clear buying and assortment strategy across multiple partners or product groups.
• Strong commercial mindset and experience managing sales, margin, inventory, sell-through, budgets and Open-to-Buy.
• Ability to navigate a complex, fast-moving matrix organisation and manage multiple seasons and priorities simultaneously.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to articulate a clear vision and assortment strategy for the business.
• Curiosity and willingness to test new strategies in a fast-paced digital retail environment.
• Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with a track record of effective cross-functional teamwork and valuing differences.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English.
• Experience with merchandising assortment-visualisation tools, database tools and online analytical dashboards.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office, with particular strength in PowerPoint and Excel.
