Compensation Benefits Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager to support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of compensation and benefits practices across SANY's European operations.

The role will have a strong focus on European Compensation & Benefits (C&B) , including salary structures, annual salary reviews, bonus and incentive schemes, benefits, payroll-related coordination and market benchmarking.

In addition, the position will act as a regional HR compliance interface , supporting HR teams and local entities on employment-related compliance matters, with particular focus on areas such as individual taxation, employee benefits, payroll compliance, social security and local employment practices .

This is a regional role requiring close collaboration with local HR teams, Finance, Payroll, Legal, external advisors and business leaders across different European countries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Compensation & Benefits

• Develop, implement and continuously improve C&B policies, processes and frameworks across SANY's European operations.
• Coordinate the annual salary review, bonus and incentive processes across European entities.
• Maintain and develop regional salary structures, job grading, salary ranges and compensation guidelines .
• Conduct market benchmarking and provide recommendations on salary competitiveness and compensation positioning.
• Support compensation analysis for new hires, promotions, transfers and internal movements.
• Review and manage various employee benefits, including company cars, allowances, insurance, pension, meal benefits and other local benefits.
• Ensure appropriate alignment between global compensation policies and local European market practices.
• Provide C&B analysis and recommendations to HR management and business leaders.

2. Payroll & Benefits Coordination

• Work closely with local HR and payroll providers to ensure accurate implementation of compensation and benefits policies.
• Review payroll-related C&B matters and identify potential compliance or cost risks.
• Coordinate the implementation of new compensation and benefits programs across different European countries.
• Support the review of expatriate compensation packages, allowances and related benefits where applicable.
• Monitor changes in local tax, social security and benefits regulations that may affect employee compensation.

3. European HR Compliance Interface

• Act as a regional HR compliance interface between European HR teams, local management, Finance, Legal and external advisors.
• Monitor key HR compliance developments across European countries and assess their potential impact on compensation and employee benefits.
• Support compliance matters related to individual income tax, social security, employee benefits, payroll and employment-related regulations .
• Coordinate with external tax, payroll, legal and HR advisors when specialist advice is required.
• Support the development and maintenance of regional HR policies and guidelines in line with applicable local requirements.
• Identify potential compliance risks and support local HR teams in implementing appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain a regional overview of key HR compliance requirements and ensure important regulatory changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders.

4. HR Data & Reporting

• Prepare regular regional C&B reports and analysis, including headcount, salary costs, salary increases, bonus costs and benefits costs.
• Develop and maintain compensation-related dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
• Analyze compensation data to identify internal equity, market competitiveness and cost trends.
• Support annual budgeting and workforce cost planning together with Finance and HR.

5. HR Projects & Business Support

• Participate in regional HR projects related to compensation, benefits, HR policies, compliance and organizational development.
• Support the harmonization of HR practices across European entities where appropriate.
• Provide professional C&B advice to HR Business Partners, local HR teams and management.
• Support due diligence, audits and other HR-related projects when required.
• Perform other HR-related responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law or a related field .
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Compensation & Benefits, HR Operations, Payroll, HR Compliance or a related HR function.
• Experience working in a multinational or international organization with multiple countries is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of European compensation and benefits practices.
• Experience with salary benchmarking, salary structures, bonus schemes and employee benefits .
• Practical knowledge of European employment-related compliance, payroll, taxation or social security is highly preferred.
• Experience working with external payroll, tax, legal or HR service providers is an advantage.
• Experience in the Netherlands and/or other European countries is strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good understanding of European C&B practices and HR compliance requirements .
• Familiarity with employee taxation, social security, payroll and benefits regulations in European countries.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work with complex compensation data.
• Strong Excel and HR data analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively across different countries, cultures and business functions.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• High level of confidentiality and professional integrity when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.
• Fluent in English and Chinese ; knowledge of Dutch or another European language is an advantage.
