Our expertise lies at the intersection of spatial planning and transport, combined with related fields such as environment, energy distribution and climate resilience. Over the coming years we aim to significantly expand this knowledge toward climate adaptation. This will enable us to predict the impact of spatial developments and transport‑related measures and policies and to demonstrate the contribution of climate‑adaptive solutions. Our goal is to support policymakers in creating a climate‑resilient living environment by providing practical tools and knowledge. Consequently, our research results are directly applicable for municipalities, regions and national governments. /p h3What will be your role? /h3 pYou will play a key role in our ambition to collaborate with governments, businesses and knowledge institutions to create a sustainable and climate‑resilient living environment. Although our expertise group has been active in this area for years, we have recently decided to invest further in this as a strategic growth area. /p pAs a senior consultant you combine deep expertise with strong advisory skills to connect TNO’s innovative technologies with the challenges faced by our clients. Climate adaptation is a priority area where TNO aims to accelerate innovation; you will be TNO’s figurehead in climate‑adaptive urban areas and transport networks. Your entrepreneurial skills help TNO tap into new funding sources. /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul liCompleted a relevant master’s degree (e.g. urban development, architecture, environmental sciences or civil engineering). /li liAt least 10 years of experience in climate‑adaptive urban areas and/or transport networks. /li liDeep knowledge and an active network within the climate adaptation ecosystem, preferably in both academia and among public and private partners of TNO. /li liExisting network within cities, universities and businesses in the field of climate adaptation in an urban context. /li liDemonstrated ability to inspire others, building on your domain knowledge and skills. /li liStrong conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to translate complex technology and market needs into concrete innovation opportunities for clients. /li liSuccessfully contributed to large strategic project proposals, such as national or European programmes or contract research. /li liStrategic insight, politically and organisationally sensitive, with a strong sense of timing and positioning. /li liExcellent communication in Dutch and English. /li /ul h3What You’ll Get In Return /h3 pChallenging and varied work with real impact.
