We co-developed a new way of working called people-centred justice programming. This means building justice systems that are built around the needs of people. Those needs include safe and stable societies where economic prosperity, innovation and entrepreneurship can thrive. We operate in multiple countries. Our current programmes are active in Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Lebanon, Niger, Burkina Faso, Syria and Mali. /p pWe’re looking for a people-centred bSenior Manager Finance Operations /b, with a strong background in Finance, Taxes, IT and Process management. If the answers to these questions are “yes” then HiiL might just be what you are looking for! /p ulliThe Hague /liliFulltime /li /ul pThe Senior Manager Finance Operations will be responsible for managing and the implementations of the strategies of the departments: Finance Control, IT, Process management, Security, Procurement, Legal, Office. The Senior Manager Finance Operations manages a team of five professionals and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. She/He will become part of the Management Team. /p pThe role requires a mix of leading, managing and being hands-on in the areas of finance control, process management, IT and reporting. /p h3What’s the Senior Manager Finance and Operations mission: /h3 h3Finance (45%): /h3 ul liCoordinates the yearly (strategy creation) of HiiL Work Plans and of HiiL budget process in collaboration with HiiL management and Project Management; /li liPrepares, monitors and controls the HiiL budget for organizational and project purposes; /li liSets and maintains a proper financial control and management reporting framework for HiiL. Ensures that all HiiL’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation; /li liCritically monitors, analyses, reviews and explains the budget versus actual variances for head office departments, projects and grants; /li liConducts the recurring financial accounting and auditing activities; /li liAdvises management on all programmes in managing grants and contracts; /li liEnsures compliance with donor requirements and stakeholder procedures; /li liDeals with and advises on tax compliance in the countries in which HiiL operates. /li /ul h3IT Process Management (35%): /h3 ul liSupervises the IT systems and infrastructure, ensures the data security GDPR regulations and stays informed on the latest innovative digital solutions; /li liAdvocates for both existing and newly implemented procedure and policies that promotes a smooth running of our international operations; /li liAddresses operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction; /li liBuilds strong partnership relationships with service suppliers. /li /ul h3Management (20%): /h3 ul liMonitors clear and effective department strategies and set quarterly priorities for the teams; /li liProvides a positive and safe work culture; /li liManages performance of staff on high quality outputs and fosters professional personal development in line with the team’s strategic goals; /li liActs as sparring partner for the Executive Board. /li /ul h3What we look for in our new colleague /h3 ul liHolds a Master degree in Finance/accounting, Business Administration, Business Computing, or other closely related degrees; /li liHas at least 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar position, preferably in an international organization; /li liHas experience in continuous improvement of internal services and work-flows; /li liHas experience in drafting budgets and forecasts, using spreadsheet software; /li liHas strong analytical skills; /li liHas ample experience in managing and leading teams; /li liHas strong personal leadership as well as a high level of ethics and integrity.
