AI Platform Engineer (remote)

Sprut Gaming is an international B2B iGaming platform designed for the rapid launch and scaling of online casinos. We help investors, operators, and affiliate teams enter the online gambling market with a transparent business model, robust technical infrastructure, and comprehensive support at every stage of project launch and growth.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

We are building a platform consisting of 15+ microservices and plan to expose it to LLM agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You will be responsible for designing and implementing from scratch a central MCP gateway (authentication, rate limiting, auditing, and routing), as well as adapters within the services themselves to expose tools/resources for AI models. This is a greenfield project with direct impact on product features and internal operational tools.

What You Will Do:

• Design the MCP layer: define which tools/resources/prompts should be exposed, how to safely describe them for LLMs, and how to version them.

• Develop the gateway service and adapters for existing microservices (Go). You are free to choose the stack (Go / TypeScript / Python) — we are open to well-reasoned discussions.

• Configure access control, call auditing, rate limiting, and observability for LLM traffic.

• Work with different LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, local models) — evaluate quality and cost efficiency for various use cases.

• Prototype use cases together with the product and ops teams and bring them to production.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• 4+ years of backend development experience in Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or Python (strong proficiency in at least one of them, with the ability to read and modify code in the others).

• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs in production environments (function calling / tool use, streaming, retries/timeouts, cost and latency optimization).

• Strong understanding of microservice architecture: gRPC/REST, authentication (JWT/OAuth), queues, and observability (logs/metrics/traces).

• Ability to design APIs not only for humans but also for AI models — including clear contracts, descriptions, edge-case handling, and prompt injection considerations.

• High level of ownership and autonomy: you drive the direction from architecture to production, rather than waiting for tickets.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with MCP, LangChain, LangGraph, AI agents, or production-grade RAG systems.

• Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects.

• Experience with RBAC/ABAC, audit logging, and GDPR compliance.

• Practical understanding of how transformers work and why models behave the way they do (from an engineering perspective rather than a research one).
