Associate Director Technical Operations (Blister)

Merck seeks an Associate Director of Technical Operations for its Haarlem blister packaging facility. This leadership role involves strategic oversight of asset lifecycle management, maintenance excellence, and major capital projects while managing and developing a technical team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle optimization plans
- Coach, mentor, and empower a diverse technical team of direct reports
- Serve as primary business representative for major technical projects and capital investments
- Oversee capital expenditure planning and operational budget management
- Drive site-wide continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence culture
Requirements
- Proven experience leading organizational change and multidisciplinary teams
- Background representing business interests in large-scale technical projects with substantial budgets
- Experience in quality-critical, safety-focused industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, or chemicals
- Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement methodologies and reducing operational defects
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, life sciences, supply chain, or equivalent professional experience
