Database Platform Architect

ppTEKsystems Global Services is supporting a leading organization within the retail and consumer goods industry that is continuing to modernize and scale its enterprise database platform. We are seeking an experienced Database Platform Architect to lead the architectural direction of a large-scale Oracle and Exadata environment. /p pThis is a strategic role for a senior database professional who combines deep Oracle expertise with cloud architecture, governance, security, and stakeholder management experience. The successful candidate will serve as the technical authority for the database domain, driving platform standards, architectural best practices, and long-term modernization initiatives. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Platform Architecture Strategy /h3 ulliOwn and evolve the Oracle platform architecture. /liliDefine architectural standards, design principles, and best practices. /liliDevelop long-term platform roadmaps aligned with business and technology objectives. /liliEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend future-state solutions. /li /ul h3Security, Governance Compliance /h3 ulliLead architectural discussions around security, compliance, resilience, and scalability. /liliEstablish governance frameworks and technical standards for database platforms. /liliImprove security controls and operational guardrails across the environment. /liliCollaborate with security and cloud teams to ensure adherence to enterprise standards. /li /ul h3Documentation Standards /h3 ulliCreate and maintain architecture documentation, reference designs, and technical blueprints. /liliDrive standardization across database environments and operational processes. /liliReduce architectural and documentation debt while improving platform maturity. /li /ul h3Stakeholder Engagement Leadership /h3 ulliAct as the technical representative for the database domain across the organization. /liliParticipate in architecture review boards and strategic technology initiatives. /liliCollaborate closely with engineering, cloud, infrastructure, and security teams. /liliProvide architectural guidance and oversight to ensure successful implementation of design decisions. /li /ul h3Platform Modernization /h3 ulliDrive initiatives related to Oracle Exadata adoption and optimization. /liliSupport database consolidation and platform transformation efforts. /liliPromote automation, operational efficiency, and engineering best practices. /li /ul h3Required Skills /h3 ulliProven experience as a Database Architect, Lead DBA, Principal Database Engineer, or similar senior-level role. /liliDeep expertise in Oracle Database technologies and enterprise database platforms. /liliStrong experience designing and supporting business-critical database environments. /li /ul h3Experience with: /h3 ulliOracle Exadata /liliMicrosoft Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) /liliEnterprise-scale cloud platforms and transformations /liliStrong knowledge of database platform design, governance, security, and compliance. /liliExperience creating architecture standards and technical documentation. /liliAbility to influence technical direction and drive strategic decision-making. /li /ul h3Stakeholder Management /h3 ulliStrong communication and presentation skills. /liliExperience working with senior technical and business stakeholders. /liliAbility to lead discussions across multiple teams and disciplines. /li /ul h3Preferred Skills /h3 ulliTerraform /liliAnsible /liliDevOps practices /liliIdentity Access Management (IAM) /liliSecrets management /liliCollaborative environment with cloud, infrastructure, security, and database specialists. /liliEnglish-speaking international team. /liliStrong focus on modernization, innovation, and operational excellence. /li /ul h3Language: English (Dutch is a plus) /h3 /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
