We are looking for a Cloud Development Manager to lead and grow our cloud engineering organisation as we scale nationally and internationally. /p pOur cloud platform supports technology used every day in real homes, helping people live independently, safely, and with dignity. As we grow, we need someone who can bring structure, collaboration, and calm leadership to a fast-developing environment. /p pThe Cloud Development Manager leads and develops the organisation’s cloud engineering capability, including multiple internal cloud development teams, the DevOps team, and selected external development partners. You will ensure that the cloud platform evolves in a scalable, secure, high-quality way while supporting product growth and a strong engineering roadmap. /p pThis role combines technical leadership, team development, and delivery excellence, fostering modern engineering practices and ensuring predictable, high-quality outcomes across all cloud-related areas. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 bLeadership Team Development /b ul liLead and coach cloud developers, DevOps engineers, and external partners. /li liBuild a stable, healthy team structure and support the transition from freelancers to internal staff. /li liFoster autonomy, ownership, and continuous improvement. /li /ul bTechnical Direction /b ul liShape cloud technical direction collaboratively with tech leads and development teams. /li liGuide cloud architecture and ensure security, scalability, and maintainability. /li /ul bDelivery Process /b ul liEnsure predictable planning, execution, and high-quality releases. /li liImprove development flow, tooling, reliability, and operational readiness. /li liStrengthen alignment with Support on cloud operations and Product on device-side dependencies (HW/FW/SFRM/FRR). /li liWork closely with Product, Support, Quality Compliance, and hardware/firmware teams. /li liCollaborate with international RD colleagues as part of ongoing group integration. /li liEnsure visibility of cloud development across the organisation. /li /ul bCapacity Budget /b ul liManage internal capacity, external development partners, and cloud-related budgets. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 bTechnical Background /b ul liSolid understanding of modern cloud development (preferably AWS). /li liKnowledge of backend/IoT architecture and familiarity with PHP environments. /li liStrong grasp of DevOps practices (CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, automation). /li liAbility to review technical proposals and guide decisions constructively. /li /ul bLeadership Experience /b ul li5+ years managing engineering or cross-functional technical teams (or strong tech lead ready for the next step). /li liExperience building, developing, and stabilising teams. /li liCalm, structured leadership style; decisive yet collaborative ("doortastend"). /li /ul bWays of Working /b ul liStrong in Agile/DevOps culture and modern software development methods. /li liComfortable collaborating across Dutch and Nordic cultural environments. /li liAble to be onsite at least btwo days per week /b. /li /ul bIdeal Personal Attributes /b ul liDiplomatic and clear communicator. /li liEncourages autonomy and healthy team dynamics. /li liInvolves teams in shaping direction and avoids top-down mandates. /li liSteady, pragmatic, and comfortable navigating change. /li /ul bKey Success Measures /b ul liPredictable delivery and milestone adherence. /li liImproved cloud reliability and reduction in operational incidents. /li liStable, healthy team structure and reduction of freelancer dependency. /li liSuccessful onboarding and integration of new internal hires. /li liImproved quality indicators (bug trends, deployment reliability). /li /ul pIf this seems interesting, please apply with an updated CV.
