AI Backend engineer

ph3Overview /h3 pOur AI team builds GenAI applications that go into production at one of the Netherlands' largest banks. Our scope is bankwide, from voice agents handling thousands of contact center calls to AI lending assistants that support lenders in writing credit proposals. We build, ship, measure, iterate, and do it fast. /p h3Role /h3 pYou design, build, and operate the backend services and infrastructure that power GenAI applications in production. You ensure that AI solutions are secure, scalable, and reliable in a real banking environment. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign and implement backend services and Azure cloud infrastructure for GenAI use cases, including Voice AI, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows. /li liBuild and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for production systems. /li liEnsure reliability and performance through monitoring, logging, observability, and optimization. /li liCollaborate with AI engineers to integrate GenAI capabilities into production‑ready systems. /li liPartner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable backend and infrastructure solutions. /li liOwn the full system lifecycle: design, build, deploy, operate, and continuously improve production systems. /li liContribute to engineering excellence through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and backend/infrastructure best practices. /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 ul liBuilt and deployed Python backend services or platforms that run in production. /li liWorked with cloud infrastructure (Azure required). /li liDesigned or maintained APIs and distributed systems that handle real‑world usage. /li liImplemented CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. /li liShipped systems that are relied on by users, and can explain outcomes. /li liExperience integrating GenAI/LLM components is a plus, but not required. /li /ul h3How you work /h3 ul liTake ownership from initial cloud architecture design to production deployment, ensuring ongoing operations. /li liMove quickly from idea to working system without heavy direction. /li liBalance speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. /li liMentor juniors and share knowledge on system design and infrastructure. /li liCommunicate technical decisions clearly to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders. /li liShow interest in GenAI and its fit in real production systems. /li liDemonstrate initiative through side projects or tooling. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 ul liAttractive gross monthly salary based on a 36‑hour work week, including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget. /li liExcellent pension scheme. /li liFlexible working: work from home where possible; ergonomic home office set‑up provided. /li liFive weeks of vacation per year, plus two mandatory days off; additional vacation weeks up to four can be purchased. /li liExtra days off for personal development or volunteer work. /li liAnnual public transport pass. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunities /h3 pWe value equal opportunities for all employees and adhere to inclusive hiring practices. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
