ph3Senior Accountant - FinTech Projects /h3 pJoin our Global Accounting Team in Amsterdam as a Senior Accountant for FinTech Projects. You will represent the Accounting function in the design, implementation, and launch of strategic business initiatives where Booking.com facilitates the fund flow between customers and partners. You will be a key driver in securing the accounting integrity for every product launch and influencing the solution design to ensure long term scalability of systems processes. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liAct as a trusted and influential business partner to our internal and external stakeholders, driving projects with cross-functional collaboration and significant business impact. /li liLead and own the design, implementation, and testing of large-scale business initiatives from an accounting perspective, ensuring a focus on long-term scalability. /li liActively collaborate with stakeholders to define, align, and communicate accounting, reporting, and process requirements. Ensure new initiatives are supported by accurate and complete reporting, robust controls, and compliance standards that are implemented and maintained effectively. /li liAttend and lead project-related meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Prepare comprehensive documentation for processes, data, fund flows, and related instructions to support clarity and consistency. /li liCollaborate closely with Data Analytics and Business Intelligence teams to design, implement, and test reporting solutions for new initiatives, ensuring their integration into the monthly closing process. /li liAddress key accounting challenges as they arise, acting as a subject matter expert for the broader accounting team and supporting the Finance mission of achieving balance sheet and PL excellence. /li liOversee the monthly closing process for newly launched initiatives until they are fully transitioned to the operational month-end close team as part of standard operations. /li liCollaborate with external providers, including local accountants and auditors, to ensure compliance with all applicable local regulations. /li liProactively identify, scope, and support the implementation of operational process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. /li liFoster a collaborative and positive team environment to collectively achieve department goals and drive success together. /li /ul pPlease note that this list of duties is not exhaustive and you may be required to complete ad-hoc tasks as requested by your manager. /p h3Required Qualifications Experience /h3 ul liMinimum 6 years of Accounting experience /li liExperience in projects and project management is preferred. /li liExperience working with Product, Data Analytics, Technical Accounting teams /li liComfort working with big data in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment. /li liBeing solution-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven is essential. /li liAbility to grasp technical designs and simplify them into understandable concepts. /li liBridges technical details and business perspectives to ensure alignment. /li liProactive and resourceful self-starter with a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow. /li liStrong interpersonal skills with proven stakeholder management ability. /li liTakes ownership of responsibilities with a positive, independent, and inquisitive mindset.Works independently and collaboratively with a strategic, "big picture" focus. /li liFamiliarity with US GAAP and a strong understanding of month-end close procedures. /li liStrong proficiency in financial systems, with SAP S/4HANA experience preferred. /li liFluent in both spoken and written English. /li /ul h3This role is NOT eligible for relocation assistance /h3 h3Total Reward Philosophy: /h3 pThe benefits and perks offered by the company can be found here. /p h3Inclusion at Booking.com: /h3 pTake it from our Chief People Officer, Paulo Pisano: “At Booking.com, the diversity of our people doesn’t just create a unique workplace, it also creates a better and more inclusive travel experience for everyone.
