Function: Systems & Control Engineer

Location: Delft

Employment: 40 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced Systems & Control (S&C) Engineer to join our development team working on high-performance gimbal camera. In this role, your main responsibility will be for the stabilization software running on our 2-axis (roll & pitch) gimbal. You will have ownership over the design of the controllers and implementation in C++. Besides this your input will be a contributing factor for new hardware designs.

This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts real hardware used in high-stakes environments.

What You Will Do:

  • System identification of our current gimbal.
  • Design the right control architecture for the task.
  • Work closely with hardware and embedded systems to integrate the chosen controller/filters in C++.
  • Participate in scrum meetings and technical discussions of our Robotics department, helping each other where necessary.
  • Be the go-to contact person for problems related to S&C, such as vibration analysis.
  • Join in on testing days to see your code running on a real drone in the real world.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in Systems & Control or a related field
  • Experience with designing controllers, system identification, and/or filtering
  • Experience with Python and C++
  • Fluent in English or Dutch
  • Must be eligible to work in the EU / Netherlands

Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • BSc or MSc in Systems & Control or a related technical field
  • Experience working in Linux environments (bash, tooling, deployment)
  • Experience with collaborative software development (Git, CI/CD, agile/scrum)
  • Familiarity with drones, UAVs, or robotic platforms
  • Affinity with tech startups and/or the defence industry
  • Comfortable learning new technologies quickly and working with evolving products
