If a waiter cannot solve a complaint, you jump in to help. You check that the orders are correct, and the employees are well supervised and trained, as you are not always on the floor. Together with the whole team, you make sure that everything is going according to plan and at the end you hand the shift over neatly to the colleagues taking over. This way the colleagues are up to date.
