About MAKE

MAKE is the shared production & post-production studio for Omnicom in the Netherlands, working closely with TBWA\NEBOKO, dotdotdash and the wider creative network around us, bringing Producers, Post Producers, Editors, Sound and other creative specialists together under one roof.

Our Post team sits close to the creative process and works across a broad mix of commercial, branded and digital projects.

We combine in-house talent with a network of freelancers and specialist partners, which means the answer isn't always to follow the same production template.

We are looking for an Editor

At MAKE, we believe great editing is about much more than putting shots in the right order.

An Editor shapes the story. You find the rhythm, emotion, humour or tension that turns footage into something people actually want to watch. Sometimes the answer is in the script. Sometimes it only reveals itself once you start cutting.

The Role

We’re looking for an Editor who loves that process.

Someone with strong creative instincts, a sharp eye for storytelling and the confidence to bring their own point of view to the work. Someone who enjoys sitting together with directors and creatives, but is equally comfortable taking a brief and running with it.

MAKE works across advertising, branded content, digital, social and everything increasingly difficult to put into one neat little box. That means no two projects are quite the same.

What you will do

You'll edit work for a broad range of brands, agencies and creatives, from commercials and campaign films to branded content, social content and case films.

You will:

• Turn raw footage, scripts and creative ideas into compelling, story-driven edits.
• Work closely with Directors, Creatives, Producers and Post Producers from first assembly through picture lock.
• Bring your own ideas into the room and actively help make the work better.
• Find the right pacing, structure, performances, music and sound to make an edit work.
• Be comfortable presenting and discussing your work with creatives and other stakeholders.
• Respond creatively to feedback rather than simply executing a list of changes.
• Work across different formats, lengths and platforms while protecting the idea and craft behind the work.
• Use basic motion design and compositing skills where they help tell the story, whether that's creating a temp animation, building a rough composite or visualising an idea before it moves further down the Post pipeline.
• Prepare projects cleanly for the next stages of Post, including motion, VFX, online, grading and sound.
• Spot potential technical or creative issues early and work with the wider Post team to solve them.
• Keep your projects organised and follow our media and post-production workflows.
• Collaborate with Post Producers on realistic planning and flag it early when something needs more time, resources or a different approach.

And because our industry is changing quickly, we want you to be curious.

AI, generative video and new creative tools are rapidly becoming part of the post-production toolbox. We don't expect an Editor to suddenly become every other discipline in Post, but we do expect you to explore new possibilities, experiment and understand when new technology can genuinely help the work.

Who you are

First and foremost, you are an Editor.

You have a strong reel or portfolio that shows that you understand storytelling, timing, performance, music and visual rhythm.

You're highly comfortable working in Adobe Premiere Pro and understand the wider post-production pipeline.

You also know your way around the basics of motion design and compositing. You don't need to be a dedicated Motion Designer or VFX artist (we have specialists for that) but being able to animate, create a convincing temp or quickly composite something to make an idea work is a big advantage.

Experience with tools such as After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and emerging AI tools is useful, but great editing matters more to us than ticking every software box.

You:

• Have professional editing experience in advertising, film, branded content or a comparable creative environment.
• Have strong editorial and storytelling instincts.
• Understand how offline connects to VFX, motion, grading, sound and final delivery.
• Have basic motion design and compositing skills.
• Are comfortable working directly with creatives and directors.
• Can work independently but genuinely enjoy collaborating with others.
• Stay organised when several things are happening at once.
• Know when to keep pushing an idea and when to make a decision and move forward.
• Stay calm when deadlines get tight.
• Are curious about new techniques, AI, tools and ways of working.
• Care about craft.

We're less interested in exactly how many years you've been doing this than in the quality of your work, how you think and what you bring into an edit.

Because we sit close to both the creative and production process, you won't simply receive a hard drive and disappear into an edit suite. You get the opportunity to be involved, challenge ideas, solve problems and help shape the work.
