You not only design mechanical components and complex installations, but also create complete system designs that meet functional requirements, lifecycle requirements, safety standards, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. /p pYou also support and guide fellow engineers, safeguard design quality, and act as sparring partner for structural engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers. /p pIn short: you create robust designs that entire project teams can build upon, first time right. /p h3What do we expect of you? /h3 pAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer Design, you contribute to project innovation and the further development of our engineering capabilities. You are responsible for designing mechanical component /p pYour responsibilities: /p ul liMaintain oversight of complete work packages. /li liProvide technical direction within your design scope. /li liIndependently develop and detail designs of steel structures, components and mechanisms. /li liDevelop system designs focused on functionality, lifecycle and integration. /li liPerform structural, hand and basic FEM calculations to support decisions. /li liPrepare engineering estimates for technical decision-making. /li liConsider manufacturability, cost, materials, production and assembly. /li liProduce, review and modify design and manufacturing drawings. /li liEnsure seamless integration within the overall system and environment. /li liDevelop alternative solutions for manufacturing or assembly challenges. /li liLiaise with procurement, suppliers and other disciplines on specifications. /li liContribute to optimisation and innovation of existing designs. /li liReview and optimise design input from colleagues. /li liCollaborate with structural engineers on validation and optimisation. /li liTransfer designs for further validation and joint optimisation. /liliContribute to standards, work instructions and technical improvements. /li liMaintain in-depth knowledge of at least one product group. /li liSupport commissioning, testing and technical issue resolution. /li liCoach and guide junior engineers and subcontractors. /li /ul h3Wondering if you are ‘equipped for impact’? /h3 pYou are: /p ul liCreative, innovative and proactive. /li liStrong in communication and able to technically coach others. /li liA team player with seniority and the ability to work independently. /li liSolution-oriented, flexible and detail-focused. /li liAble to switch quickly in a dynamic project environment. /li /ul pYou have: /p ul liA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. /li li5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the offshore or maritime sector, or in heavy steel construction. /li liA passion for complex mechanical systems and design.The ability to prioritise effectively in a technically challenging environment. /li liExperience with AutoCAD and Inventor is an advantage. /li /ul h3Some practical things we need you to have: /h3 ul lian EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands; /li lia good command of the English language verbally and in writing. /li /ul h3More about Huisman /h3 pWe design and produce in-house and deliver our turn‑key products to clients worldwide.
