You’ve been part of more than one team, you’ve demonstrated initiative on most of your projects, and you can tell us in technical detail what you did to help. Ideally you’ve worked with at least one devops team, and in at least one flavor of agile. If you haven’t we won’t hold that against you. At DEPT®, we pride ourselves on our pragmatic, engineering approach to making data work for the business. /p h3What you’ll bring: /h3 ul lipAbility to realign client expectations when challenges arise (delays, change in scope, etc.) /p /li lipProactively, and independently able to research knowledge needed to perform tasks (i.e., knows when to ask for help, and doesn't spend significant time on already-solved issues) /p /li lipYou have the ability to identify potential technical solutions that apply to an internal/client situation (i.e., ability to connect technical solutions to a business need). /p /li lipYou enjoy working with peers / new hires to help them understand and apply best practices /p /li lipYou can prioritize multiple tasks and communicate the overall status of a project. /p /li lipYou enjoy participating in technical design of systems, schemas, or pipelines and offer sound guidance /p /li /ul h3What we’re looking for: /h3 ul lip3+ years of experience in core programming fundamentals, modern tools (IDEs, CLI, Git/version control), and basic debugging: /p /li lipScripting languages like Python, Ruby /p /li lipCompiled languages like Java, Scala, C++ /p /li lipSource Control Systems /p /li lip2+ years of experience in Data Management Tools: /p /li lipPipeline management tools like Airflow or Luigi, and/or enterprise ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS or Datastage /p /li lipDevops tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker /p /li lipDatabase Management Systems like BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, mySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Redshift /p /li lip2+ years of discovery and assessment of a client’s portfolio, tools, and applications /p /li lip2+ years of professional software and consulting experience /p /li lipExperience working in cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is a plus. /p /li lipExperience with Unix-based OSes a plus! /p /li /ul h3WHAT DO WE OFFER? /h3 ul lipWe enjoy spending time together, working closely with other local colleagues, and getting to know one another.
