DevOps Technical Functional Administrator – Azure DevOps

Location: Amstelveen, Netherlands – Hybrid

Hours: 36 hours per week

Start Date: 1 November 2026

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Technical Functional Administrator to join a small team responsible for supporting and managing a large Azure DevOps environment.

This role is ideal for someone with strong Azure DevOps knowledge who enjoys helping development and IT teams work more effectively. The position combines technical and functional administration, user support, environment governance, tooling management and process standardisation .

The main focus is not hands-on software development. Instead, you will enable teams to use Azure DevOps effectively while ensuring the wider environment remains stable, secure and well structured.

Key Responsibilities

Azure DevOps Support & Administration

• Act as a key point of contact for teams using Azure DevOps and related tooling.
• Functionally configure, manage and maintain Azure DevOps projects and environments.
• Help teams structure their Azure DevOps projects, workflows and ways of working.
• Support users with questions regarding tooling, processes and platform functionality.
• Establish practical standards and guidelines across Azure DevOps environments.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and support implementation of improvements.
• Promote knowledge sharing and consistent DevOps practices across teams.

Release & Deployment Tooling

• Support the administration of release and deployment tooling.
• Help maintain a stable, secure and reliable DevOps environment.
• Assist with platform updates, maintenance and operational issues.
• Work closely with internal IT teams and external technology suppliers.
• Support the ongoing continuity and availability of the tooling environment.

Jira & Confluence

• Support the administration and use of Jira and Confluence.
• Help improve the organisation and accessibility of documentation and knowledge.
• Support colleagues in using Atlassian tooling effectively.
• Contribute to further developing Jira and Confluence expertise within the team.

Required Experience

• HBO-level education, preferably within IT or a comparable technical field.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure DevOps , including functional configuration and administration.
• Previous experience within an IT support, functional administration, application support or technical support environment.
• Good understanding of general IT environments and infrastructure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable supporting users with different levels of technical knowledge.
• Able to translate technical challenges into clear and practical solutions.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Jira and Confluence .
• Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments .
• Knowledge of release management and deployment tooling.
• Experience establishing standards, governance or best practices within Azure DevOps.
• Previous experience supporting DevOps transformation or adoption programmes.
