Azure Cloud Engineer

Their cloud team is expanding and is looking for two Azure Cloud Engineers to strengthen its capabilities in the areas of Azure governance, automation, and infrastructure as code. As an Azure Junior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining Azure Policies and Initiatives, building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, and developing infrastructure templates using ARM and Bicep. You will write PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks and collaborate with architects, developers, and delivery teams to align implementation with platform standards. Working in a structured, sprint-based environment, you will contribute to a platform that underpins the cloud infrastructure of a major player in asset management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, configure, and maintain Azure Policies and Initiatives to enforce security, compliance, and operational standards



• Monitor policy compliance across Azure infrastructure and execute remediation actions where needed



• Build and maintain YAML-based pipelines in Azure DevOps to support CI/CD and configuration-as-code practices



• Develop and manage ARM and Bicep templates to standardize Azure resource deployments



• Write PowerShell scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and enforce governance



• Collaborate with cloud architects, developers, and delivery teams to ensure implementation aligns with platform standards



• Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to backlog items focused on Azure governance and automation



• Validate and test policies and infrastructure templates before deployment to production environments



• Support delivery teams with policy remediation activities across the Azure platform



• Document implemented solutions and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams

Must-haves

• Hands-on experience in Azure engineering, infrastructure automation, and platform governance



• Deep understanding of Azure Policy management, Initiative definitions, and policy remediation workflows



• Strong experience with Azure DevOps, including YAML-based pipeline design and release automation



• Proficiency in ARM and Bicep for infrastructure-as-code deployments



• Solid skills in PowerShell for automation and scripting



• Understanding of CI/CD principles, configuration as code, and version control practices (Azure Repos, Git)



• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, and compliance reporting dashboards



• Working knowledge of Azure networking and security architecture



• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with C# and/or Python



• Relevant Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305)



• Experience in regulated or audit-driven environments (SOx, ISAE, DORA)



• Experience working alongside managed service providers such as DXC or Fujitsu



• Native Dutch speaker
