Lead Consultant, Tax Technology

ph3Position Summary /h3pLead Consultant, Tax Technology serves as a technical and delivery leader for tax technology implementations, providing end-to-end ownership of complex client engagements. This role is responsible for analyzing client tax environments, designing scalable tax automation solutions, and leading full lifecycle implementations across tax engines and integrated business systems. The Lead Consultant acts as a trusted advisor to clients, manages project execution, mentors team members, and supports the growth of DMA’s Tax Technology practice through solution excellence and opportunity identification. /ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities /h3ulliLead the design and implementation of tax technology solutions, including tax engines, compliance tools, and integrated automation platforms. /liliAnalyze client tax landscapes, gather detailed requirements, architect solution designs, and oversee implementation execution. /liliOwn all phases of the tax technology implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, ERP and tax engine configuration, testing, knowledge transfer, and go live support. /liliReview ERP and tax engine configurations to identify gaps and recommend improvements based on industry best practices. /liliConfigure and integrate tax technology solutions with ERP, billing, POS, and eCommerce systems, including non‑standard integrations. /liliServe as the primary delivery and technical point of contact for assigned client engagements, managing expectations and outcomes. /liliLead project management activities, including facilitating status meetings, maintaining project plans, documenting decisions, and managing timelines. /liliProduce and review formal client documentation, including solution designs, configuration documentation, and training materials. /liliMaintain and enhance existing client tax technology environments following implementation. /liliApply a deep understanding of accounting, pricing, and freight configuration concepts to support accurate tax determination. /liliManage scope, change orders, and delivery risks in alignment with Statements of Work. /liliIdentify additional client needs, potential risks, and opportunities for expanded services or follow on engagements. /liliMentor Senior Consultants and Consultants by providing technical guidance, delivery oversight, and professional development support. /liliProvide best practice guidance and informal coaching to project team members. /liliSupport internal initiatives, solution development efforts, and practice improvement activities. /liliPerform other duties as assigned. /li /ulh3Education and Qualifications /h3ulliBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field required. /lili4–7 years of experience delivering tax technology implementations with tax engines and ERP integrations. /liliStrong expertise in tax application configuration within ERP environments. /liliDemonstrated ability to design and execute non‑standard integrations and complex data mappings. /liliSolid understanding of accounting processes, pricing structures, SUT/VAT/GST and freight configuration impacts on tax. /liliProven ability to work independently, manage client engagements, and lead project execution. /liliAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project documentation tools. /liliExcellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. /liliStrong organizational, time‑management, and client‑relationship skills. /li /ulh3Work Environment Physical Restrictions /h3ulliWork Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week /liliTravel: Up to 50% /liliPhysical Activity: Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use /liliAbility to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds /liliFrequent repetitive motions with hands /liliFrequent interaction with project teams and clients via meetings and system reviews. /li /ulpThe Company is an equal employment opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to its applicants and employees.
