Senior Test Automation Engineer

pHelloPrint is on a mission to become the world's leading infrastructure for customizable printed products. From our offices in Rotterdam and Valencia, 100+ professionals from 20+ nationalities are building an AI-first company that scales output faster than headcount. We are rebuilding the platform: ecommerce, APIs, internal tooling, all under active development at speed. Speed without quality is just faster breakage. This role exists to make fast releases safe, and to turn QA from a bottleneck into leverage. /pbAbout the Role /bpAt HelloPrint, our engineering teams are accelerating development cycles using autonomous and AI-assisted tooling. While AI makes generating code exponentially faster and cheaper, verifying that core business workflows and transaction guarantees remain intact stays just as complex. Without a rock-solid testing harness, higher code velocity simply translates to higher operational risk. /ppWe are looking for a bSenior Test Automation Engineer /b to take technical ownership of our automated bPlatform Test Harness /b. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the end-to-end and contract-testing architecture that enables our teams to develop with AI fearlessly, safeguarding our core customer and commerce flows under continuous delivery. /pbWhat You Will Do /bullibArchitect the Platform Test Harness for AI Velocity: /b Design, implement, and maintain deterministic E2E test suites using Playwright and TypeScript. Build the automated guardrails required to safely absorb high-frequency, AI-assisted code generation without regression. /lilibImplement Contract Testing Boundary Validation: /b Establish strict API schema validations and contract tests (REST / JSON Schema) at service boundaries to prevent schema drift between our Product Catalog Engine, checkout services, and partner integrations. /lilibShift-Left Quality in AI Workflows: /b Partner with Product Owners and software engineers during sprint refinement to define explicit boundary contracts and edge cases upfront—embedding a clear Definition of Done before feature code or AI prompts are executed. /lilibHigh-Speed CI/CD Orchestration: /b Maintain and optimize GitHub Actions test pipelines, focusing on smart test parallelization, artifact caching, and keeping feedback loops under 10 minutes. /lilibAccumulate Platform Memory: /b Partner with engineering during post-incident reviews to ensure every confirmed production defect results in an automated test that makes that specific failure path impossible to repeat silently. /lilibCollaborate Mentor: /b Pair with our QA Automation Engineer and mentor software engineers in writing effective integration tests, adopting TDD habits, and reviewing AI-generated test scaffolding. /li /ulbWhat Success Looks Like After 12 Months /bullibCritical Journey Protection: /b 100% of primary commerce flows are guarded by automated E2E tests in CI. /lilibFast Stable Pipelines: /b CI test suite execution completes in under 10 minutes with a test flakiness rate below 1%. /lilibDefect Shift: /b At least 80% of functional regression issues are caught in automated CI runs before reaching staging or production. /lilibCompounding Resilience: /b Every resolved high-priority incident has an associated regression test in the repository, making the harness the living memory of the platform. /li /ulWhat We Are Looking ForullibExperience: /b 5+ years of software testing and automation experience as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer working with modern web applications and distributed APIs. /lilibPractical AI Perspective: /b A sharp, realistic perspective on how AI tools impact modern software engineering—understanding why accelerated code generation elevates the need for deterministic test suites, strict interface contracts, and fast feedback loops. /lilibCore Tooling: /b Hands-on experience building robust, flake-free automated test suites in TypeScript / JavaScript using Playwright (or Cypress), alongside API testing frameworks. /lilibAPI Contract Testing: /b Practical experience validating RESTful APIs, webhooks, and JSON data contracts across microservices. /lilibCI/CD Practicality: /b Working knowledge of GitHub Actions (or equivalent CI systems), with an emphasis on parallel test runners, containerized test execution, and pipeline debugging. /lilibMindset: /b AI-first thinking, high autonomy and ownership, and office-first commitment in Rotterdam HQ. /li /ulpWe encourage applications even if you do not meet 100% of the listed points. Relevant practical experience and problem-solving skills matter most. /pThis role is not for you if youulliSee QA as the step that happens after the "real" work; /liliWant a fixed checklist and no ownership of strategy; /liliGot into automation because it was on a job spec, not because manual repetition genuinely bothers you; /liliNeed heavy process to move; /liliWould rather work from home than sit next to the team you are gatekeeping for. /li /ulWhat we offerulliRoom to grow: opportunities develop fast, within your role and across HelloPrint /liliThe team: 100+ people from 20+ nationalities who build at a pace most companies cannot match. Rotterdam is not a compromise. It is where the work happens. /liliReal impact: shape the future of a high-growth, AI-driven company where your ideas land in production the same week. /liliFull autonomy from day one: no roadmap to follow, no brief to wait for. You see the problem, you build the solution, you own the outcome. /liliHello-Benefits: including 24/7 HelloFit gym access, UrbanSportsClub discount, the best events and company-sponsored healthy meals every day /li /ululliBase salary: gross per month, depending on seniority and experience /li /ulpbReady to build something? /b We need bold thinkers, fast executors, and AI-first problem solvers. If that sounds like you, Let's redefine an industry together.brControleer alle bijbehorende sollicitatiedocumenten grondig voordat u op de sollicitatieknop onderaan deze omschrijving klikt.br/ppAt HelloPrint, we believe diversity makes us better.
