Experts in the lead — from day one until the system is live and beyond. /p pFor one of our new customer engagements, we are looking for a bPrivate Cloud Engineer /b who takes full ownership of a greenfield infrastructure project — and who thrives when the stakes are high and the environment is complex. /p h3What you'll be doing /h3 pOur customer is a Dutch water authority responsible for wastewater treatment across 19 locations throughout the Netherlands. Their IT and OT environments are currently intertwined and, on top of that, the systems that keep clean water flowing need to become increasingly automated. /p pWe are building the foundation for that future: a sovereign private cloud platform based on bVMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 /b, deployed across two active-active datacenters — one at the customer's site, one in a colocation facility. The platform uses bNSX /b to achieve logical IT/OT separation and bvSAN /b for storage. Once the core platform is stable, it will be extended to all 19 operational locations. /p pIn this role, you will: /p ul liDesign, build and continuously improve a resilient, secure, multi-tenant private cloud platform /li liImplement and maintain logical IT/OT separation using NSX, ensuring compliance with applicable frameworks /li liAutomate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tooling /li liContribute to the physical infrastructure setup in both datacenters during the initial build phase — together with your team, not as a lone ranger /li liSupport workload migrations and transformations once the platform is ready for use /li liHelp evolve the platform's run operations as the engagement matures /li /ul pThis is not a role for someone who wants to manage what others have built. You'll be in the mix from the start — racking hardware in Zwolle one day, writing Terraform modules the next. /p h3What we're looking for /h3 pYou know VMware's private cloud stack inside out. You've built environments from scratch, and you understand the difference between setting something up and truly owning it. You have an everything-as-code mindset and you're comfortable in environments where security and compliance aren't afterthoughts — they're baked in from the start. /p pYou also communicate fluently in Dutch. All documentation, client interaction and team communication happens in Dutch, and that won't change. /p h3Must-haves: /h3 ul liExtensive hands-on experience with bVMware VCF /b, including bvSphere /b, bNSX /b and bvSAN /b /li liStrong knowledge of resilient, multi-tenant private cloud infrastructure /li liProven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as bTerraform /b and/or bChef /b /li liExperience working in high-security environments /liliFamiliarity with physical networking and storage — whether that's Aruba, Cisco, Arista or NetApp, we care more about your depth of understanding than the specific vendor logo on the hardware /li liFluency in bDutch /b — mandatory /li /ul h3Nice to have: /h3 ul liAffinity with or experience in bOT environments /b (e.g. SCADA, industrial automation, water or energy sector) /li liKnowledge of relevant compliance frameworks such as bIEC 62443 /b, bBIO /b or bISO 27001 /b /li liExperience hardening, configuring and managing bWindows and/or Linux servers /b for hosting and deploying VM workloads /li liVMware certifications, e.g. bVCP-DCV /b (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization) /li /ul h3Practical information /h3 ul libStart date: /b as soon as possible /li libOn-site: /b First 3–4 months in Zwolle, at least 3 days per week — with your team, not alone.
