Brightsmith are partnering with a leading green data-cententre developer with over 500MW under management. Due to continued project growth, we are looking for an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Design Consultant to join their engineering team in Amsterdam.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the electrical design and development of full-scale Data Centre facilities, working closely with Design Managers and the wider engineering team. This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who can contribute across the full facility rather than focusing solely on one electrical system.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical designs for Data Centre facilities.
• Review and grade technical drawings.
• Work with the latest generation of Data Centre electrical equipment.
• Create and maintain design schedules.
• Coordinate designs and reporting information with Design Managers.
• Support full-facility design and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Coordinate electrical designs with structural and CSA teams.
• Work across the wider facility rather than focusing on a single specialist electrical area.
• Ensure designs are technically coordinated and suitable for project delivery.

Requirements

• Proven Data Centre design experience in the Netherlands – essential.
• Strong electrical engineering background.
• Experience working across full-facility Data Centre design.
• Experience with grading drawings and design schedules.
• Strong understanding of design coordination and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Structural/CSA experience or understanding would be highly advantageous.
• Must be hands-on and technically experienced rather than purely design-management focused.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Dutch language skills are preferred but not essential.

Interview Process

One-stage interview with the Chief Engineer and Design Manager.
