Drive commercial performance through data, strategy and people

Are you an analytical and commercially minded leader who can transform complex data into clear business direction? Do you enjoy enabling sales teams, strengthening commercial processes and identifying new opportunities in the market? 

CMA CGM is looking for a  Sales Effectiveness & Marketing Manager to strengthen the effectiveness of our commercial organisation across the Benelux Cluster. In this pivotal role, you will combine commercial strategy, sales analytics, marketing intelligence, digital adoption and team leadership. Your insights and recommendations will directly support the Cluster CCO and Sales Management in making informed business decisions and accelerating sustainable commercial growth. 

Your role

You will monitor the execution of the commercial strategy and ensure that the Cluster Commercial Strategy remains aligned with the Group’s overall direction. By analysing sales performance, market developments and business opportunities, you will provide management with clear insights, compelling presentations and actionable recommendations.

You will also play an important role in improving sales effectiveness. This includes supporting target setting, monitoring performance, managing leads and territories, reviewing customer qualification exceptions and maintaining high-quality commercial data. 

As a trusted partner to Sales Management, you will strengthen the adoption of commercial processes and sales tools throughout the organisation. You will organise regular training, support the implementation of projects launched by the Regional Office and Head Office, and communicate relevant commercial developments to the Sales team. 

Marketing and market intelligence

You will identify market size, emerging trends and business development opportunities across relevant customer segments and verticals. You will conduct market analyses, benchmarking studies and commercial performance reviews, translating your findings into practical recommendations for the Cluster, Regional Office and Head Office Marketing teams.

You will contribute to decisions concerning local charges, create a customer communication channel strategy, promote CMA CGM products, and strengthen the visibility and accessibility of commercial information as owner of the Commercial SharePoint site. 

Team leadership

You will lead and develop a small, high-performing team of approximately three to four direct reports. Together, you will deliver strong analytics, high-quality management information and professional commercial presentations that enable the wider commercial organisation to perform at its best. The position reports directly to the Cluster CCO. 

What you bring

• Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities, with the ability to translate data into clear business insights and recommendations
• A strategic and commercial mindset, with a strong interest in market analysis, sales performance and long-term growth opportunities
• Strong communication and presentation skills, combined with the ability to influence stakeholders across different levels of the organisation
• Expert knowledge of sales tools such as Salesforce, or the ability to quickly develop this expertise
• Experience in improving sales processes, data quality, tool adoption and commercial effectiveness
• The ability to collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Trade, Agency Management, Regional Office and Head Office functions
• People leadership skills and the ability to build, motivate and develop a small, high-performing team
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and international environment
• Full professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is considered an advantage.

How success will be measured

Success in this role will be reflected in the development of sales-controlled volume, the effective execution and representation of the Cluster Commercial Strategy, improved knowledge and adoption of tools such as NOVA and Aqua, and continued improvement in customer satisfaction as measured through NPS and related indicators.
