Interim ISO Lead Auditor

Our client recently underwent an external audit covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701, which resulted in the identification of several major non-conformities.

To address these findings, the organization is seeking an experienced ISO Lead Auditor / Management Systems Consultant to perform an independent assessment of its High-Level Structure (HLS) and support the remediation effort. The scope of work will focus specifically on clauses 4 through 10 of the ISO management system standards and does not include technical annex assessments.

The primary objective is to identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and help the organization demonstrate sufficient progress before 21 September, enabling the current major findings to be downgraded to minor findings during the follow-up review process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct an independent audit and maturity assessment of the existing HLS framework
• Review the implementation and effectiveness of clauses 4-10 across:
• ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
• ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
• ISO 20000 (IT Service Management)
• ISO 27001 (Information Security Management)
• ISO 27701 (Privacy Information Management)
• Identify structural weaknesses, compliance gaps, and improvement opportunities
• Develop practical remediation plans and corrective actions
• Advise management and process owners on governance, compliance, and certification requirements
• Support the implementation of improvement initiatives and collection of audit evidence
• Perform readiness assessments and internal audits in preparation for follow-up audits
• Report progress, risks, and recommendations to key stakeholders
• Assist the organization in reducing and closing major non-conformities

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Lead Auditor, Principal Consultant, or Management Systems Specialist
• Strong auditing background across several of the following standards:
• ISO 9001ISO 14001
• ISO 20000
• ISO 27001
• ISO 27701
• Demonstrated experience conducting internal and external audits
• Deep understanding of the ISO High-Level Structure (HLS), particularly clauses 4 through 10
• Experience with non-conformity management, corrective action programs, and audit remediation projects
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Lead Auditor certifications (IRCA, PECB, or equivalent) are highly desirable

• Independent gap assessment of the current HLS implementation
• Detailed review of existing management system processes and controls
• Prioritized remediation roadmap
• Corrective Action Plan (CAP)
• Executive management reporting and recommendations
• Evidence packages supporting remediation efforts
• Follow-up audit readiness assessment

Assignment Details

• Estimated workload: 160-200 hours
• Immediate start required
• Critical milestone: demonstrable progress must be achieved before 21 September to support the downgrading of major non-conformities
• Opportunity to work closely with leadership and compliance stakeholders on a high-priority audit remediation program
